A few millimeters forward

I decided to try out getting dressed with the grabber. Yep, great for pulling up pants. One less thing to worry about. I'm going to have to experiment with what the grabber can do. I have a feeling it's going to become my favorite toy during recovery.

I think I'm going to go for the spinal block and sedation, instead of general anesthesia. From what the husband tells me, I'll be pretty much out for the whole operation. And coming to consciousness won't be as big a fuss. One thing I really hate about surgery is the horrible discomfort of emerging from general. I especially hate the rationed ice chips.

  1. Hello,
Thanks so much for posting. I have been reading your blog...actually studying it, I just had a hip replacement in South Korea where I teach in an elementary international school. You have really educated me and encouraged me!! Here in Korea - it's harder to ask questions and get information. There's really not any prep or follow up here. Question- how long did you have to be careful about twisting to the left or right, my hospital physical therapist didn't comprehend english. She said I'd never be able to twist and I have been very careful since my surgery about 3 weeks ago.
Thanks and keep up the great recovery.

  2. Wow! Thanks for your note. I'm so glad I'm helping you! Which hip was replaced? I'll be glad to address your concerns, which are pretty much the same as mine, as I continue to recover. Hope your recovery goes well also!
